Working alongside City Theatre to create a fully interactive play was a brand-new challenge for Ambavi Creators. We decided to transform the play from a mere spectacle into a shared experience for the audience. In doing so, we aimed to return theatergoers to the very roots of theatre - a time when audiences were expressively involved in the performance, openly reacting to the story, the actors and the narrative forms being used. We wanted to look back to an era when theatre was not strictly academic but popular, where the people, in one way or another, helped shape the show themselves. To achieve this, we had to write a script that would break down the barrier between the auditorium and the stage, turning the audience into an active part of the story.
With this vision in mind, we penned the script and began staging it in collaboration with director Koko Roinishvili and the City Theatre team. "Game Theory" is a two-act play. In the
first act
, the audience is introduced to the premise: five friends (played by Giorgi Makharadze, Nodar Dzotsenidze, Irakli Chkhikvadze, Beka Khachidze and Shako Mirinashvili) discover the body of a mutual acquaintance at their shared summer house. In the
second act
, an investigator named Gogi Koridze, also known as Koro (played by Vaniko Tarkhnishvili), interrogates all five of them. It is during this second act that the audience takes control of the narrative via a dedicated
mobile app
. They choose the order in which the investigator questions the suspects, send additional live questions to the detective during the interrogation and ultimately decide which of the five is the killer based on how the questioning unfolded.
Beyond the narrative,
technical execution
and
software development
, we also worked on the
visual identity
of the play alongside stage designer Barbara Aslamazi. Through projections, we brought each character’s inner world to life, while the
sound design
further deepened the audience's emotional connection to the events unfolding on stage. We even trained and
integrated an AI
system to filter the incoming audience questions, verifying the relevance of each inquiry before passing it directly to the investigator.
"Game Theory" became the
most demanded play
of the Spring 2026 theatrical season. We are absolutely thrilled by this success, which reaffirms just how strong the modern audience's desire is for active engagement and deep emotional connection. The crowd's reaction, the fact that the production became the season's top-selling show and the positive feedback from professional theater circles have all convinced us that we successfully achieved our goals - creating a true adventure for the audience that will live on far beyond just a single season.
