One of the areas we wanted to explore was the development of a software-controlled LED lighting system. We got that opportunity when Bar Sakhelosno reached out to us—they wanted to replace their outdated lighting setup with a modern solution.
As always, we began by listening carefully to the client to fully understand their vision, goals, and motivation. Based on these insights, we created a completely new lighting concept tailored specifically to their needs. In the next phase, we conducted an in-depth review of LED lighting manufacturers and provided the bar with detailed recommendations on selecting the right fixtures—ones that could be integrated with a custom-built application we developed to control them.
A key component of this project was the installation of a programmable 3D LED cube (2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 meters) in the center of the venue. What makes this cube unique is that each segment of light can be controlled individually, like a pixel on a screen. This effectively transforms it into a 3D display capable of showing custom visuals, dynamic patterns, or text. Both lighting systems—the LED grid and the 3D cube—are operated via software we developed specifically for this project.
In the second phase of the project, we created and embedded several hundred lighting patterns into the control software. As a result, the bar underwent a complete lighting transformation. Through the custom software and lighting system we built, the venue now has the flexibility to endlessly modify its lighting colors, mood, effects, and pattern sequences. The 3D cube, in turn, can be used not only as a lighting element but also as a massive 3D screen, capable of displaying animations or text in real-time.
This project opened up new opportunities for us to work on fundamentally innovative lighting concepts for bars and clubs, as well as for theaters, performances, and live shows.
