How to create an immersive digital space
Being inside museum spaces is second nature to me. Having worked in numerous museums across Tbilisi, I’ve had a front-row seat to how these institutions have evolved, refined and modernized over the years. Yet, despite my extensive background, discovering digital spaces felt like a true revelation largely because of the endless possibilities they unlock for both the audience and the venue itself.
The first time I stepped into Holoseum, I came face-to-face with the distinct emotion these spaces evoke. I found myself inside an infinite world where I wasn't just observing a favorite master painting, architectural monument or natural wonder from a distance; I could touch it, become part of it and immerse myself endlessly in what I love most.
Back then, I couldn't have imagined that years later, Ambavi Creators would be born a Company that has become my daily reality and fills the exact market need I just described.

If content isn't presented in an engaging way, the brain simply filters it out just like hundreds of other inputs throughout the day. This component is especially vital for the shows we design for children. Engaging a child is a unique challenge and truly inspiring them is an even bigger feat. A digital space is the exact place where learning and play seamlessly overlap. Educational elements are integrated so naturally that kids thoroughly enjoy the journey and leave with new knowledge and unforgettable memories.

Traditional museums have fixed main galleries and temporary exhibition rooms. The beauty of an immersive room lies in its adaptability: you can use it for a conference in the morning, an exhibition in the afternoon and an exclusive event in the evening. When we talk about setting up a digital space, it’s never just about mounting hardware on walls. For us, spatial design always begins with an idea: What emotion and feeling should the visitor walk away with?
A digital space doesn't strictly require four rigid walls or a pitch-black room. All you really need is a venue with structure to mount a projector and surfaces to map onto. A prime example of this was the interactive space we built for
Global Tech Weekend Tbilisi
.
Our task was to create a 5-walled digital exhibition space. It was no easy feat: the walls stood 4 meters high. In digital spatial design, the biggest technical hurdle is shadows when visitors walk up to a wall, their silhouette shouldn't cast a shadow over the visual. To seamlessly cover five 4-meter walls, we needed to project from a height of at least 6 meters.
That’s where the real magic began. We installed a heavy-duty overhead structure on the ceiling, after which our Technical Director, Tedo who, to put it mildly, isn't the biggest fan of heights "thoroughly enjoyed" securing the projectors high up above the ground.
The end result was a fully immersive, interactive digital exhibition space.
Over the years, we’ve perfected our own field-tested methodology for creating digital exhibitions: we first inspect the location, feel its spatial potential, conceive what will be visually and emotionally impactful, and only then dive into solving the complex engineering logistics. That was precisely our approach for the
Batumi Birdwatching Festival
.
As luck would have it, when the organizers called us, our Creative Director, Toresa, happened to be in Batumi. He visited the venue and immediately saw beyond the standard, plain conference hall he spread his wings and insisted on creating an immersive narrative that flowed from a ceiling projection straight onto the LED screens. We brainstormed, weighed the optics, calculated the projection angles and delivered a result that completely transformed the venue. Guests at the festival felt genuinely transported into nature, with birds soaring directly above their heads across the ceiling.
I share these examples to demonstrate the sheer versatility of the digital format. It can be adapted into an existing environment or built into a purpose-made venue to engineer a one-of-a-kind experience for your visitors.
To bring it back to the core point: a digital space can be set up anywhere, under any conditions, and within tight timelines. The main ingredients are drive, deep technical expertise and hands-on experience all of which we have accumulated over the years.
So, what technical equipment is needed to set up a digital space?
To put it simply:
light-colored walls, a projector, a media server, a sound system and cabling. For interactive experiences without which an exposition can sometimes feel static you’ll also need tracking cameras or sensors. This is the core starter setup that delivers immense visual impact.

To build a digital space, you primarily need projectors or other multimedia display tech. Depending on the final result you want to achieve, we’ll consult you on the exact technical specifications required. Naturally, hardware costs vary. If you’re setting up a temporary exhibition, renting equipment in the local Georgian market is an option (though local inventory can be limited). However, if you want a permanent installation, buying the equipment outright is the best path forward. That’s where Tedo’s logistical magic comes in he knows precisely where, when and how to source the right hardware at the best value. You can easily source standard performance PCs and sound systems locally and finding suitable tracking cameras is straightforward unless you require highly specialized, custom interactive sensors.
