Interactive Installation "Mindfully"

On June 19, 20, and 21, Factory Tbilisi will host one of the year's most significant technological forums, Global Tech Weekend Tbilisi. The event will bring together representatives from over 50 countries, uniting corporations, founders, investors, creative teams, startups and universities from the Caucasus and Central Asia region. On June 20, Ambavi Creators will be featured at Global Tech Weekend Tbilisi with an installation we have named "Mindfully" ("სრული გონებით"). Our goal is to creatively convey our mission and core areas of activity at this prominent forum. The Creative ProcessWhether presenting an interactive installation or an immersive exhibition, we always begin working on a new project and concept by visiting the location where the immersive storytelling will unfold. No matter what we do, one of our main objectives is to integrate the project organically into its specific venue, ensuring it blends harmoniously both visually and functionally. This is why we often say that the space itself dictates the idea. Consequently, our entire team usually attends the site visit. What follows is the development of the idea, a process that often unfolds quite dramatically due to natural debates within the team. These intense - and sometimes disturbingly fierce - discussions allow us to look at the concept from every angle and refine it to perfection. This time was no exception. We began working on the project by visiting Factory Tbilisi and discussing the detailed event plan and spatial layout with the Global Tech Weekend Tbilisi team. Next, we mapped out the specific spaces where we could create something. Only after analyzing the entire program, spatial planning, and considering specific technical requirements and limitations did we begin developing the core concept. The Concept: Reconnecting with Nature Through TechnologyThis entire process signaled that the optimal approach would be to create an interactive installation. It would mirror the experience one gets in modern museums and galleries, while simultaneously ensuring active human engagement and the creation of an immersive environment. Thus, the idea was born: to use this installation to bridge the gap that exists in the modern technological world - between the usage of technology on one hand and the natural human desire to be connected to real life through all the senses on the other.Indeed, alongside technological advancement, we increasingly encounter anxiety disorders, decreased concentration and human alienation. Fast and often uncontrollable flows of information, combined with corporations using algorithms to exploit our basic needs, lead to dopamine dependency and significantly impair cognitive and focus-related abilities. In contrast, throughout existence, humans have transformed nature while constantly seeking ways to live in harmony with it. This becomes possible when we engage with it with a full mind (mindfully). With this installation, we want to use technology to guide people into a meditative state of mindfulness. This is precisely where its name comes from. The Five Chapters of the InstallationTo achieve this, we have divided the space into five distinct sections:The Introduction (Wall 1): Upon entering the installation, visitors encounter the title of the exhibition, an opening phrase, the concept and brief information about Ambavi Creators. This evokes the atmosphere of a traditional exhibition space, helping to establish a calm mood and a focused environment suitable for starting the interactive journey.Visual Observation (Wall 2): From there, visitors move to the next wall, where a projection displays a visual image framed sharply like a work of art, which they must observe closely.Physical Contact (Interaction with the Exhibit): Following this visual observation, they transition to the touch area. Here, grass is placed in a specially designated, highlighted spot as an exhibit. However, unlike a traditional museum piece, visitors must touch it, observe their sensations, smell it and gather maximum information and feelings through tactile interaction.Narrative Self-Reflection  (Wall 4): Visitors then proceed to the next wall, where they find a microphone, headphones and a projected image in front of them. After putting on the headphones, the participant is asked to share what they felt when observing the visual image at the beginning and what sensations and insights they gained from touching the grass. The more they share and the more detailed their description of these sensations is, the more the projected image on the wall unfolds and the more the music in the headphones fills up.Synchronized Motion (The Final Wall): Finally, they move to the last wall, which features a visual image that transforms dynamically in sync with their body movements.ConclusionThrough the installation "mindfully," we will leverage technology to create a meditative environment for the attendees of Global Tech Weekend Tbilisi. We are bringing the experience of a harmonious relationship with nature into a tech forum's exhibition space, engaging people through various sensory organs:Visual perception;Touch;Smell;Hearing; The synchronization of body movement and audio-visual alteration.Furthermore, the narrative reflection on the experience will shape each individual’s personal story, turning the interactive installation into a medium for self-expression.In this manner, we have crafted an interactive installation that serves as a creative act in its own right. It fully embodies our mission and core focus: immersive storytelling delivered through an interactive installation, creating an experience of complete mindfulness and total engagement.Read more about the project
